What House Cleaners Won’t Do: Understanding Service Boundaries

Professional house cleaners clean your home. That sounds obvious, but many clients expect services that fall outside standard cleaning scope, leading to mismatched expectations and disappointment. At The Prime Cleaner, being clear about what we do and don’t do prevents surprises and ensures you book the right service for your actual needs.

Standard cleaning does not include laundry. We don’t wash, dry, fold, or iron clothing or linens. For Airbnb turnovers, we strip beds and remake with fresh linens you provide, and can start a wash cycle if in-unit machines are available, but full laundry service isn’t part of cleaning.

We don’t wash dishes. If your sink has a few items, our team may address them during kitchen cleaning as a courtesy, but a sink full of dishes is outside scope. We clean the kitchen, including the sink itself, but washing accumulated dishes is a separate task.

We don’t organize closets, drawers, or personal spaces. Cleaning surfaces and organizing contents are different services. We clean the surfaces of and inside closets during deep cleaning, but we don’t reorganize what’s in them.

We don’t do pest control, mold remediation, or biohazard cleanup. These require specialized licensing and equipment that cleaning companies don’t carry. We clean after these services are completed.

We don’t move heavy furniture. We clean around furniture in its standard position and can move lightweight items. Sofas, beds, and heavy furniture pieces stay where they are.

We don’t clean exterior spaces as part of standard interior cleaning. Balconies, patios, garages, and exterior areas can be included at additional cost and upon specific request.

We don’t handle human or animal waste beyond standard bathroom cleaning. Severe pet accidents, hoarding-related biological material, or similar situations may fall under our specialty cleaning scope at different pricing.

We don’t make repairs. If we notice something broken during cleaning, we’ll let you know, but fixing it isn’t our scope.
